Atlantic City

No excuses, not lazy, just busy...

Hard to recap everywhere we've in the past few weeks, seen so much.  Believe we are through with Massachusetts and Connecticut.  We will be "stationed" for the next month on Newark Liberty Airport. We had a chance to see Jackie Evancho in concert in Worcester, MA (properly pronounced as worsta).  Was really good, she's really grown up from America's Got Talent.

We spent a couple of days sightseeing around Cape Cod, quite lovely in all it's fall colors.

Last night we stayed in Atlantic City.  Had brunch at the Trump Taj Mahal.  If you are here, DO NOT go there for the buffet.  It was awful, cold and cheap in appearance.  Would have done better at a Golden Corral and at 29.95 each it was quite a rip off.   Saw other guests request refunds.  Good news I won 10 bucks from the one armed bandits.  Not bad on a penny machine...

Water Fire continued

Water Fire was initiated in 1994 to encourage locals to come downtown on a Saturday night, and it works.

Watching a fire is a very primal feeling and the setting was beautiful.  We really enjoyed it.

Water Fire

Last night we had a great experience in downtown Providence.  They call it Water Fire.

The city sets up 80 bonfires along a 1/2 mile stretch of the riverwalk and 19 in a circle in the basin.
It's very cool; water, fire, wood, music, smoke and people, many thousands.

At exactly 20 minutes after sunset they start the procession.

Daring Diners

We dropped off the truck at our next customer on Monday and headed to our hotel in Pawtucket, RI.

I started shopping on Groupon for lunch.  It's not often you see an African/Senegal restaurant so we figured, why not be daring.  We were not disappointed.  We got a half off coupon to Bayal Buffet.  Chef Ali guided us thru the buffet line describing the dishes and what things to eat together.  Wonderful seasonings and flavors.  Good conversation with Ali.

Ali came to the US for school.  Got educated and married.  Now his sister and mother are here and he will never be able to leave.  That's our good fortune.  Anyway a great experience.

And no short jokes, please...
