We finally got out of Laredo and the heat that goes along with it, but not too far.
We picked up a load of empty Coke cans there at the OC and dropped them in Lufkin, TX. Our next w/a was to pick up a load of water. Of course by now you know I hate the water loads, 45,333 pounds of it. We picked it up at 0900 this morning which was 107 miles away and are to deliver at Sam's Club in Temple, TX at 0200 tomorrow.
We arrived about 1600 and there's another Schneider truck here with a load of... you guessed it, water.
The temperature this afternoon was 97 so we walked over to the mall to hang out in their a/c.
Oh, another first. The a/c in the truck works just wonderful when we're driving but last night when we went to bed it pooped. It wasn't that hot, not sure exactly but with both fans on we did alright. I tried several times today to let the truck idle hoping it would poop out again so we could drop into the Dallas OC on our way down here to Temple. But you know how those gremlins are. They show up when they want, not when you want.
It seems the temp has dropped a bit this evening and we're not supposed to idle here at Sam's while parked. So we'll have to take a wait-and-see approach. Update on that tomorrow.
